The ap...See MoreFor educators who are interested. The National WWII Memorial in Washington, DC is having a 2016 Teachers conference from July 20-22, 2016.
Teachers who attend the conference will receive 24 continuing education credits upon completion.
I have provided a link to the website for more information and the application.
The application deadline has been extended to July 8, 2016.
If you cannot provide a letter of recommendation at this point, that is completely understandable, just do your best to complete as much of the application as you can. We know much of the staff at schools have gone on summer vacation.
If you have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to reach out to:
I would like to resign from my position at the end of the school year. I was a mid year hire (came into the school in Jan).
I have application currently open in HCPSS, AACPS, and MCPS since December for the 2016-2017 school year.
I would like to know if I can resign from my teaching post in PGCPS and transfer to another county at the end of the school year with out getting my license revoked?
I just finished my fourth year at PGCPS, I was in your position last year when I was not tenured. If you leave after the date for non tenured teachers (in April I believe) PGCPS has the right to pull your teaching certificate in the state of MD. I would not recommend doing it unless you plan to teach outside of MD.
I have been asked in for a Curriculum Interview with Howard County Schools. Can anyone tell me what I can expect?? Also, do these interviews actually lead to a teaching positions?? I appreciate any input...Thanks!!

Basically you will have a hard time ever teaching again thanks to school district application questions designed to screen you out, applications that require you list your last principal, and contracts to districts asking if you are eligible for rehire. It's possible to resume a career, but you most likely will have to start all over again. You may have to move some distance to resume teaching.
Hi! I am considering moving to MD and noticed that PG is hiring lots of teachers. I would love to hear from people who have worked there/are working there now. Any input is greatly appreciated!

You can get the steps you earned elsewhere buy you aren't entitled or guaranteed them. You can negotiate, but if we're looking at a lot of steps, then you probably won't get them all.
