I'm thinking of moving to Maryland with Georgia teacher certification HQ and experience (middle school, but would like elementary). What are the better school districts, the worst? Thanks.

What is the mistake you feel you have made? Teaching or the school and or district you are in? If its the district or school then I would try to stick it out to the end and then make plans to go elswhere at the end of the year, if you feel like you don't want to teach at all then maybe come to an agreement with the principal to leave. I will say that before you decide to quit the profession all together consider what is bothering you, if you feel its the school that you are another school might make a big difference for you, the first year can be very tough and challenging, especially without support and resources. Good luck to you.
I am a student at Towson University and I am writing a feature story about the new education reform in Maryland and how it is effecting teachers and their classrooms. I would love to get opinions (positive or negative) and specifics about how these reforms have changed your day to day activities. I believe that teachers work tremendously hard as it is and I want to know if these changes are providing relief to you or have they raised new challenges. Thank you so much for responses!!
I am applying in Montgomery and Howard counties, is it true they only credit a certain number of years of your teaching experience and not all of it? For example if I have 15 years, would they only credit 5 years, which means on the salary scale my salary will be based on the 5th year only instead of 20 years?
