I am going to be moving to Maryland in the next couple months. I am currently substitute teaching in Washington. I have a Washington social studies certificate and I passed the WEST-E social studies exam to get that certification.
I also lived in California a couple years ago and I have a current social studies certificate in California. I took a subject test named the C-SET in California to get certified in Social Studies.
I only have 1/2 a year of teaching experience. The rest of my experience is subbing. I have a bachelors in history and a masters in education.
Will Maryland accept my certification. I already mailed in all of my information.
Also what is the outlook for teachers right now in Maryland. I would love to be able to get a job for the second semester. I noticed substitute pay is very low. In Washington state subs make 156-190 a day.
I am applying to teach in PG county for the resident teachers program, and wondered in anyone had gone through the program and had advice about which certification they sought. I am hoping to teach Secondary Mathematics, or elementary school. Thanks!
looking for advice on disposing of Maryland state textbooks for Non-Public schools. Just took over in the media center of my school and there are a ton of books purchased with state money that are no longer being used/ are severely out of date. Not sure what to do with them.
Hi I am considering a job offer in Va schools that pays about 20% more. Does anyone know about how Va retirement works? I am mid career and have put in 9 years already in MD. Sorry to jump ship but I cannot support middle class life where I am at for my family.
