How are the elementary schools in Baltimore City?

I did a little skimming over previous posts about teaching in Baltimore. Many of them seem like they are about the middle and high schools. I am curious about the elementary schools. I am currently a candidate for the Baltimore City Teaching Residency Program. I am trying to do as much research as possible before considering the job. After reading some of the previous posts I am starting to second guess myself. I'll admit - I'm a bit scared.

I am from MD (born and raised in MoCo) and graduated from Towson a few years ago. I know what Baltimore is like, but could I handle teaching early childhood education there?

Love it I am from a small town in PA where EVERYONE subs for YEARS to get a CHANCE at a job. I left. I love it here in Baltimore. I teach 3rd grade and LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!! Best decision of my life. I get to experience other races and cutlures besides REDNECK!!!!!!!!!!!!

pa transplant I go to work and the kids work hard with me to learn. My admin is great and the system appreciates teachers from PA bc they know we are the best!!
