Teaching Jobs on Teachers.Net

Though I've been applying for Spanish/English teaching positions online (as most of the districts request), one of my current colleagues recommends that I go "door to door" to some of the schools to become familiar with the area and get my face out there.

My question for you all is: Is it worth it to try this out? Would it be helpful to spend a day visiting schools or would I be too much of a bother?

All help/opinions are appreciated (or any job leads for that matter :) )
MD teacher Unfortunately, any school will just tell you to go through HR. Even if you went out there, it's only county HR that will hire/assign you. You may want to just call HR offices and talk to the HRhead of your content area.
