Does anyone know, or know where I can find information, about getting certified? I will be graduating next year with a bachelors degree in childhood/special ed from a private college in New York. Thanks!

If I understand NY certification correctly, you did not take the praxis tests then. If that is incorrect please do forgive me. But you need to take the Praxis tests for your certification area for MD. You can find that information at ets.org. I thought that if you have certification in another state, have taken the appropriate tests in that state, then u do not have to take the Praxis. I am finishing my MS in Early Childhood Ed and have taken all the NYS tests. I will be recieving my initial cert in Aug. Am I correct? Thanx!

NY has thier own tests which r similar to the Praxis. When I called up the certification dept. I was told I wouldnt have to take the Praxis. I would submit my test scores from NY. I will call up again, just to make sure.
