I plan on attending the PGCPS teachers' job fair on Dec. 5th. Seeking an ESL position. I would please like to hear, pro and con, what you think of PGCPS. Thank you very much. I look forward to your honest postings.

also interested I also am registering for that job fair, and would like to see a post from someone inside the PG school system. I thought PG was laying off a bunch of teachers this year. Are they hiring for next school year or this one? also there have been a number of posts on this board warning job hunters away from PG schools.

Just Me.. I find these chatboards very negative. Most of the responses for a few of the states I have looked into have advised posters looking for jobs, that there r none. I know that there are freezes in some states but not in all categories. Maryland, as far as I know has NO freezes. Many of the counties aren't hiring as many teachers but they are hiring. ...See MoreI find these chatboards very negative. Maryland, as far as I know has NO freezes. Many of the counties aren't hiring as many teachers but they are hiring. General Ed has limited positions but usually Special Ed/Needs,Science, Math and ESL/ESOL usually has more positions available. These chatboards seem to have posters who r already employed or possibly looking for work themselves and want to discourage others. And ask yourselves-y would school districts have job fairs?
