I have a question regarding my ability to obtain a Maryland teaching license. I am debating foregoing the student teaching requirement of my out of state teacher preparation program, as I am newly divorced and looking to move back to my home state as soon as possible. I will graduate with my B.S. in English and a minor in Professional Education and am interested to know if I may still be eligible for a secondary school Maryland teaching license. I also have passing scores on the required Praxis II examinations. I can’t find any student teaching requirements outlined on the State Board of Education’s website and I have too many education credits to participate in any of the alternative routes they have outlined. Does anyone have any experience in this and know how easy it would be for me to obtain a certificate without having student taught? Thank-you for your help!
