Hi, I tried searching for her site, and it seems as if My schoolonline is not longer up and running. She had some really great units on her website and also developed units for other people as well. Can anyone post any info about how to contact her? Thanks, Judy

My granddaughter just saw this email and showed it to me. I have not started a new web site since myschoolonline stopped. Where do you teach and how can I help you? Pam
I am moving to Maine this summer and I'm hoping to find a job within 20 miles of Jonesport. I have an Illinois certificate for K-9 with endosements in Lang.Arts and Social Science. I have recently completed my Master's in Clinical Counseling. I've been told by many that I am a great teacher. My concern is how difficult is it to get hired with an out- of- state certificate?
My name is Jeanne Buesser. I am the founder of a non profit support group for parents and professionals of children and adults with apraxia, in Bergen County, NJ *USA.. I was just interview by alltalkradio.org by the Rose Moore Show archives 8/26/06 and 9/2/06 with Lisa Geng. My article was published in Exceptional Parent Magazine Feb 2002 Issue.
We outreach worldwide by giving support and resources to all who are looking for help. Please let your members know about this organization which also has an email professional list as well as a digest.
We have many articles on Apraxia which we distribute at our meetings. I am enclosing also our newsletter.
Another great online resource is speechville, com and cherab.org another nonprofit also . Both of these organizations have professionals and parents on their digests also and their boards.
A wonderful resource book for professionals and parents is called “ The Late Talker, What to do If Your Child Isn’t Talking Yet” by Lisa Geng and Dr Marilyn Agin. It can be gotten online or at any bookstore, or it is also at the United Nations Book Store, in New York City.NY.
Lisa Geng is the president of the Cherab Foundation, the letters mean (Children help education research Apraxia base).
Dr Agin is the medical director for Early Intervention for NYC and a former speech and language pathologist.
If anyone has any questions please feel free to contact me at my email. Anyone is free to join including professionals.
Please also ask your members to also ask their clients about when seeing very young children if they have had their eyes, ears, checked and it they have a concern with their child’s speech development.
The papers on development in many pediatric offices relate to their growth also but not many refer to speech development questions. Early Intervention has been around for 45 years but not many people know about it.
Thank you,
Jeanne Buesser

Hi, I am thinking of moving to the east coast and am considering Maine - but I'm not sure how the job market for teachers is there. My future-husband and I would like to live in a smallish town/city - we are tired of the big city. Any help would be appreciated!
Hi, I taught and lived in Maine for 3 years. It's beautiful, but the winters are long and severe. The job market is not good, from what I've heard/observed. Teacher salaries have actually DECREASED in the past few years with cost of living. It looks like the governor is going to require smaller school districts to consolidate to form larger ones, so I imagine the job market will be even tougher as some of those teachers will get laid off.
Hope this helps.
PS: I would consider Mass. or CT, they pay much, much better. There is much more competition for jobs, though.

Hi - what do you teach? What grade level? What does your future-husband do for work? (You have to make sure that the jobs for you are at the same part of the state where jobs for him exist!) To get you started, check out the following websites. They are job search/posting sites exclusively for teachers: (servingschools is primarily Maine) [link removed]!

I am starting a post card exchange for the 2007-2008 school year. We will start mailing out postcards September 10th and have them all mailed out by April 1st. I will email you a list of participants by August 27th with the addresses.
I want this to be a learning experience for my students. They will experience writing addresses and they will learn the locations and a few facts about each state. You can send pre-made postcards or make them yourself.
Once I get the list of participants (with their school addresses) I will mail one to everyone on the list. Each class would send a postcard to everyone on the list. So, by the end of the exchange, your class would send a postcard to hopefully every state and receive one from every state too! The real purpose is to have a fun way to study each state.
Please keep in mind that if you decide to drop out of the exchange, you need to let me know so the students are not disappointed. I want this to be an awesome experience for our students so, please sign up for our exchange.
Email me your name, address, email address, and state if you would like to join. You can participate from any grade level. [email removed]
Please join!! Here are the states we still need! Delaware Hawaii Idaho Iowa Kansas Louisiana Maine New Mexico Rhode Island South Dakota Utah Vermont Washington West Virginia Wisconsin
Email me if you would like to join! [email removed]
I am a certified P-3 grade teacher in NJ. I am looking to make a move to Maine and was wondering what the process was like to become certified in Miane. PS I took the Praxis II code 0014 Elementary Ed any other that I may have to take?
Yes, and now you are as bad as Jon, posting the same garbage over and over. On 8/16/07, V. wrote: > All he does is post the same garbage over and over, > clogging the Texas chatboard. >
Hi! I teach 2nd grade in Texas and have started a postcard exchange throughout the US. I was hoping to find a class in Maine that would like to join in! The details are below. If you would not like to do this, but know of someone who might, could you please forward this post to them? Thanks a lot and have a great year!
We have a postcard exchange that has some open spots that we are hoping to fill. You would be committing to send 49 postcards to different classrooms throughout the US. They are counting on you for that state so please only sign up if you will follow through. In return, you will receive 49 postcards from around the country. Please email me your name, email, school address, and what grade you teach and I will add you to our database. I look forward to hearing from you! [email removed]

I just got hired at the last minute as a K-4 English Language Learner (ELL) Teacher and I am looking for a good example of a welcome letter to give to parents. Would anyone be willing to share their letter or make suggestions. Thanks for your help, Megan
