Purpose: To meet each and discuss current concerns that the upcoming Governor will need to address, and to hopefully and collectively come up with SOLUTIONS that can be implemented expeditiously upon appointment as Governor.
As a former school teacher I respect and understand the importance of having a voice and a strong union purposed on a solid foundation. The central theme of my Vision for Maine is collectively deciding what we want Maine to be and making the best use of the things we already have to get there. Helping the public be more aware of the importance of a collective vision takes leadership and opportunity.
I hope you will join me and share your ideas, thoughts and hopefully solutions.

"Research is showing what qualities do and don't have an effect on our genuine happiness. Does making more money, staying healthy, getting as much education as possible or living in a sunnier climate actually make us happier? Advancing to the higher range of your sustainable happiness can be achieved by feelings you conscientiously choose to associate with the past, present and future. Realizing that we are capable of changing our emotional satisfaction with life puts us in control of making choices that will alter the way we look at being human. How could these psychological behaviors influence raising children? What can we do to help develop authentically happy children? Pleasures and gratifications are distinctly different behaviors. Where in the daily care of children can we increase gratification while stopping the emphasis society puts on pleasures? "
After that you can choose from workshops on topics from astronomy for children to social/emotional development of young children to storytelling and puppetry. Many of the workshops are hands on and you will walk away with many activities you can use with your own children the next day or take back to your classroom the next week!

Peace One Day aims to bring inspirational individuals to young people’s attention, examining figures such as Mahatma Gandhi, Wangari Maathai, Rosa Parks and others, while exploring the difficulties they encountered on their journeys.

During the 'Great Peacemakers like You and Me' lesson, students will explore the common characteristics and qualities shared by peacemakers. While examining a variety of motivations as well as the determination needed to create a more peaceful society, there will be opportunities for students to reflect on their own characteristics. One of the objectives of this lesson plan and accompanying resources is for students to better understand their own personal qualities and how they too, are able to take action and create a more peaceful world. Students will be inspired to realise their own potential. The Day After Peace tells the story of one man who set out to make a difference to the world and all that he has achieved to date.
This lesson provides the perfect spring-board for Three Steps to Peace One Day as there are a range of projects which can be completed by the class. From writing their own 'I Have a Dream' speeches to having classroom debates from the perspective of someone who has inspired them. You can be sure that this lesson will stick in students’ minds!

I am looking for a classroom set of this title- Lost on a Mountain in Maine
Does anyone know of one or where I can buy it? I have scoured the net for purchase but cannot afford to pay for book and separate shipping for each 16 I need.
