Hello, Layoff after 8 years of teaching at DPS. Not sure of getting a teaching job in DPS for coming academic year. If I apply to a public school in another state, may I transfer years of service from Michigan? Thanks

I am so excited, and proud, to say that I am a Brand Partner for SnackHealthy where our #1 Income Earner is a former schoolteacher and mother of four sons. How wonderful is that?
Debbie Stein, our Top Income Earner, was able to leave a 20-year teaching career and make 3 times her teaching income! Not only is she the #1 Income Earner at snackhealthy, she is the National Trainer and takes great personal pride in introducing teachers – and all those in the educational field – to this incredible business opportunity and show them how the skills used in teaching are perfectly suited for a successful home-based business. Debbie is a delightful trainer who does not “sell” you, but rather provides basic information to see if snackhealthy is a right fit for YOU and your family!
Snackhealthy (SNAX) is a BRAND NEW Publicly Traded Company that launched in January 2012; we focus exclusively on Healthy Delicious ‘Better for You’ snacks for the entire family. Our products are All Natural, No Sugar Added, No Preservatives and Non-GMO.
What makes snackhealthy so special – and the income possibilities enormous! – is that it’s a chance for you to get in on the GROUND FLOOR of a publicly traded company (SNAX) and be among the first Brand Partners (representatives) in your area!

Highland Park Schools has just gone charter. Leona takes over the school system. What are they like to work for and do they pay decent. Some charters have no raises at all. Am really at my wits end. does anybody know them . Need any information . please help.

Absolutely no behavior support. Had a student tell me he didn't have ...See MoreWell, they certainly haven't gone up in pay any- I worked for them for about 2 weeks in Saginaw, starting pay (even though I have taught for 10 years) was $30,000. I begged for more (yes, begged!) but they said they just couldn't. I was so desperate that I took the job.
Absolutely no behavior support. Had a student tell me he didn't have to listen to me "cuz you ain't got no d*ck!". He was laughed out of the office. Had another student cuss at me, she was back in my room within minutes madder than ever, and still another threw a chair at me. He was gone to the office longer...a whole 10 minutes! He threw an apology note at me that said, "I sory". This was 4th grade.
Walked, well, actually I ran out of there! Not worth my time, energy, expertise, or the piddly paycheck.

Saw what I thought were many jobs advertised. Applied . So tired after. Nobody bothered to acknowledge, let alone call me for an interview. I am so so frustrated! aaagh.

Wow. This is not a healthy way to look at yourself. Your identity is what you make it. If its career focused, family focused, faith focused, or even hobby focused, it is up to you.
If the career side is not so good, then focus on other things. Obviously you need a job, but a teacher in MI..., as you're aware its hard. I have several friends/family members who have given up and moved to other states or changed careers. You might try to look at other options, either other careers or other geographic areas. Its not great anywhere, but if you increase the number of jobs you are willing to get, then it improves your odds.
If your identity is that hung up on your career, then you may not be happy even after you get a job. Everyone seems to hate teachers and blame us for everything wrong, and they give us credit for nothing.
FritzTried to be positive. not helping. have been trying out of state but does not look like they are particularly hungry for teachers either. Now really frustrated.and broke too
