retirement credit transfer

Hello, Layoff after 8 years of teaching at DPS. Not sure of getting a teaching job in DPS for coming academic year. If I apply to a public school in another state, may I transfer years of service from Michigan? Thanks

Finding a job/Frustrated.

I am finding it very diffcult to find a job here. I have put in numerous amounts of applications to schools. I've only had one job interview (2 1/2 weeks ago), but I did not get an answer as to whether I got the job or not. Highland Park Schools has just gone charter. Leona takes over the school system.What are they like to work for and do they pay decent.Some charters have no raises at all. Am really at my wits end. does anybody know them . Need any information . please help.

MD Well, they certainly haven't gone up in pay any- I worked for them for about 2 weeks in Saginaw, starting pay (even though I have taught for 10 years) was $30,000. I begged for more (yes, begged!) but they said they just couldn't. I was so desperate that I took the job.

Saw what I thought were many jobs advertised. Applied . So tired after. Nobody bothered to acknowledge, let alone call me for an interview. I am so so frustrated! aaagh.
