I am actually registered to sub in two school board districts, often driving up to 2 hours one way for a day of work. The system (Board, Union, etc.) has give the job assignment power to administrators, who regularly squirrel away sub days for a few preferred subs. Some of these preferred subs never even have to log in to AESOP to find work as they are simply assigned by their benevolent benefactors. The rest of us are told to simply keep trying and stay logged in to AESOP. I have even been bumped from days I found on AESOP because the days were already "promised" to another sub. I found this out when the administrator called me to apologize for bumping me out of a day! The AESOP system has reduced a group of professionals with multiple degrees (I just finished my Masters in Education), to a group of migrant workers begging at the back door of schools and school boards in the hope of working. Having previously taught full time for 7 years, this system has left me forgetting why I wanted to teach. Overseas is the only place left to find real employment where your efforts are appreciated. The AESOP system needs structure and regulations before it drives out massive amounts of eager and qualified educators.

Testing to see what happens when someone replies :)
As a retired teacher/administrator I offer a weekly job list to help others find a teaching or administration job during these tough employment times. Since starting this volunteer service in late 2005 we are now only three hires away from #400.

Hi Eileen - this forum is not designed for posting jobs. Have you seen this website's Job Center? Link is below.
The Job Center also includes helpful content for teachers seeking jobs, such as job listings (of course) and a free resume database. Hope this helps....

With the new system, members may view our inventory and request books/literacy tools online. Members will have the option to pick up books in Troy, or have them shipped.
We're very excited to make the program available to kids throughout the state.
