I believe the best avenue for success will be to encourage social studies teachers to act as advisers to those students who want to get involved in local, state and national politics.
My goal is to contact social studies teachers the across the state and get their input. My problem is I need a way to contact these teachers without having to go to each school's website, filter out all non-social studies staff school personnel and contact social studies teachers one at a time.
Is there a college that offers online endorsement programs? I have a teaching degree and am looking to add a math endorsement, but would like to do it online. I have searched and have found no programs. Thanks so much for any help!
BridgetteI am also interested in this and am having a hard time locating one. I called the state board of ed and inquired about University of Phoenix and was basically told that if I went there, there was no guarantee they would accept it when I was done.
I also discovered that to take that class I will need to find a student to do a case study on. Does anyone have any advice on how I can find one when I don't know anyone in the state? I haven't been here long enough to make many new contacts yet.
And lastly, do any of you have advice on how to find a teaching job? I don't know any of the good sites to look at in Michigan. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Here's a site for elementary students. It has simple, educational games. Many of these can be projected onto a Smartboard and played together. My 3rd graders love the "Flash Card Races".

There's a lot of good Common Core skills covered in these games! Great site
Hi! I'm seeking input regarding what professional teacher groups teachers really belong. I often advise per-service teachers to join KappaDelta Pi, NAEYC, CEC, etc... But, do in-service teachers really belong to these groups?

Some do, but I would say the overwhelming majority are not members. I would question whether a a "pre-service" teacher would want to expend the money. As a person who hires teachers, I don't see membership in these organizations as a resume builder... It means you had the membership fee and could fill out the membership form on-line... Not that impressive.
Honestly, if they offer unemployed or student teachers an option to join for $10 or $20, then one membership might be worthwhile, especially if the resume is rather sparse, but don't drop $100 on it.
Contact the school district. Sometimes they have contact information for their retired teachers or they will forward your letter to her. She'll love to hear from you! Good luck!
