    Hello,

Has anyone recently taken the MTTC Biology test (017)? If so, any tips? Advice could be general or specific - I'm just wondering how specific the questions really are. It's been a while since I reviewed my high-school biology, so I'm looking for some guidance!

    Thanks!

Hi there, I am wondering if anyone out there is getting their masters in educational leadership... If so, can you tell me how to incorporate that new required reading class (I think it's about differentiation) into my MEd? From what I can tell, SVSU does not give you that reading class if you are getting your masters in educational leadership. Any ...See More
Dear people who taught through the 80's: I know history repeats itself. I also know there were some tough times in the 80's when it came to teacher jobs. If history has taught us anything, this little "teacher overload when no one can find a decent job" thing will pass. Do you seasoned teachers think the market will recover for teaching jobs? Are w...See More
I just wanted to post about how much I love my job. I work in a charter middle/high school in Warren that truly functions like a big family. Our budget is managed as well as it can be for our times, and we never feel alone, worried about getting pink slipped, etc. We don't get paid much--- average 32,000 per year, but there is something about us th...See More

true dat I agree. Is anyone else as torn as I am? On one side: I am an educator, I reach into the future with every child I teach, the kids need me, and I love what I do. On the other side: I am made to feel very guilty for saying "no", I'm expected to raise other people's kids, I have to be perky all the time, and I am not paid what I am worth at ALL. Is i...See More

I've got an MAT and I wonder if this is keeping me from potential jobs. I've been out of work for 2 1/2 years and think: can I just leave this info off my resume and not even acknowledge it?? I don't care about making more $$, I just want to teach. Even charter schools aren't calling. I know that the market is rough, but I do see jobs from time to ...See More
Bus Teacher Schools won't hire with master's, that is just the nature of the beast. Even if you get a job with a master's by chance, you are often capped on how much experience they will give you (5 years when you actually have 12, etc).

You could leave your degrees off and put your certifications on, this would make your resume more of a functional r...See More

B Library aide time was to be cut in half. BUT now they are all being cut except the top two, who will travel around the district's eight elementary buildings providing 20 minutes of book check out and 10 minutes of shelving. There will be mileage paid. No time for library skills much less an activity. Our computer lab time was tacked on to our libra...See More
