Is the stigma of Catholic schools paying less that public schools along with much less benefits true? If so, how big of a difference on average are we talking about?

Ann I've done both and yes the pay is lower in Catholic school, however, the children's behavior and academic levels are better and higher and the class sizes are lower...I would go back to teach in a Catholic school if I had the chance...

Did both Worked two years Cath school for 26,000 and then 28,000 The third year they were going to pay 36,000, but I got a public job. This is my 4th year in my pub school and I am making 50,000. I believe the 36,000 would have stayed the same for many years.

TFS I started my career 10 years ago at a Catholic High School in a medium sized city in Michigan. My starting pay was $26,000 (which I had to negotiate with the principal.) clf I've worked in both. This is what I found. First, I found that working in a public school was like walking blindfolded between two trees. I spent all day trying to get through to 30+ students, then I'd spend the evening trying to get through to 300+ administrators. I wasn't able to get past all the politics.
