If a Michigan teacher suspects a child in her third grade class may have a learning disability (dyslexia) is she allowed to suggest to the child's parents that the child be tested and/or recommend to the school the child be tested?

Thanks,

Valerie Hough
me Do you have a child study team at your school? At my school, we would mention it to the special education teacher, who would then give you a form to fill out that asks what kind of things you've tried to help the student and what the results were. At that point, the parents would be contacted.
