Hi, I've been trying to for two years to land a special ed job in southeastern (Detroit area) suburbs. I've worked in a suburban school out of state as a cognitive impairment teacher for 1 year, 1 year as a resource teacher at a charter school in Detroit, and 1 year as a suburban substitute teacher. Over the summers I typically get 3-4 interviews but never land a job. My certification is Special Ed cognitive impairment and physical otherwise health impairment with a bachelors degree from out of state. I have a Michigan teacher licensure "PROVISIONAL TEACHING CERTIFICATE" K-12 for those subjects. I do not have any secondary endorsements such as english or math and I've wondered if that is hurting my chances? I'm aiming for middle school and high school jobs. Any thoughts?
