Last fall, I found some really neat ideas on teaching Shakespeare for my less than eager students. This was at a workshop given by Joan Throrpe on Teaching Shakespeare Through Performance. Check out her website at [link removed].

I ordered and used a cutting of Taming of the Shrew. My students loved doing it and so did their parents. Even the administration was impressed. Im ordering Caesar for another class this fall. Thanks for letting us know.
Splash! Publications is accepting applications for teachers to pilot their new American history curriculum for the 2002-2003 school year. Geared for 4th, 5th, 6th grade teachers of U.S. or American history. E-mail me at [email removed].
A financial report was issued to the Andover City Council on April 9, 2002, which indicated that the Anoka-Hennepin School District would provide $0.5 to $1.0 million per year to lease a new Ice Arena. Reportedly, members of the Ice Arena Task Force have been in contact with Board Chairman Michael Sullivan. Although not corroborated, they reported to the City Council that AHSD has committed to this spending because they can raise levies for a lease without a voter referendum.
In addition, I have reviewed the 2001 Audit for the District and found that there was $45 million in reserve funds just sitting around earning interest. I believe this money could have been put to use to stop teacher lay-offs and increase salaries.
I am disappointed in the priorities of the School Board if this information proves to be true. I am running for Mayor of Andover because I want the voters to have a say in how our taxes are spent. I also believe that the AHSD should finalize a contract with their teachers to provide respectable wages and benefits. Teachers are the front- line in the future of our nation. We should respect and compensate them as such!

Also, please trust that everything on my website is absolutely true. I can provide copies of internal documents from the City of Andover upon request.
I am a contacting you from England and I wonder if you could help me.
Could you please tell me, do teachers write summer end of year reports to parents in your country.
If so, what format are these in and do they reflect the entire years subjects taught or are they a more general summary of a child’s year and achievements.
I teach three sections of an Early Childhood Classroom Structure/Behavior Management class in the fall (with about 55-60 students total). I am looking for early childhood (primary) classroom teachers who would be interested in an "e" project where they would become an e-pal with one of my students discussing classroom management strategies/philosophies/approaches that work/have not worked in the classroom. It would involve about 4-6 e-mails where my students would inquire about classroom management, your response, and then your "sharing" of specifics in a particular classroom. Would you like to become an "e-pal" for a semester? Thanks.

Because of the budget cuts being made all over the state in Minnesota our distric has decided to cut one of our most valuable and active teachers in our school. I believe that this cut will effect our school much more than our school board realizes, this teacher is a Student Council advisor, Class advisor, Football coach and teaches two classes only he is qualifed for. If anyone has any advice on how I can save my teacher and friend, please let me know.
Many of you may be in the same position that I am - left with a little bit of extra time during the summer and slightly underpaid throughout the year :) . I have found a terrific company that promotes a personal and environmental wellness line while compensating you for using their products and introducing them to others. It is NOT multilevel marketing! The company follows a consumer direct marketing approach while providing customers with safe, nontoxic, environmentally friendly alternatives to traditional household products. If you are interested in learning more please contact me at [email removed]]
Thank you for your time & interest, Carrie Lynn Bailey Counselor, Grayson County High School
