A complete lack of trust by administrators of their teachers. It is assumed that no teacher can do thir job or that they know their subject well enough to teach. Even textbooks come with so much material -- lesson plans, worksheets, etc -- that it seems that anyone could teach the material. There are some, few, exceptions with some administrators.
At the central office/superintendent level, I...See Moreaul, I agree with you that in some buildings a lack of trust is an issue. I have moved to a building where that is not an issue. Our administration trusts us to do our jobs in the best possible way. I am very fortunate and feel badly for teachers in my previous school where trust was an issue.
At the central office/superintendent level, I see issues with trust to a certain extent. I wonder if that trickles down from the state and federal regulations/expectations?
I love the phrase, "Those who Can, Teach. Those who Can't, make laws about teaching."

I am looking for a website where I can type in spelling/vocab words and a story will be generated using those words. ANy suggestions? I've been to TONS of websites that say they will do this, but I can't seem to navigate my way around- or it isn't there at all. THANK YOU!
Most of the teachers in our region are highly unprepared for immigrant students that are moving into the area. I'm wondering how other teachers are handling the challenges. How prepared do you feel to teach students who don't speak English? What is your school doing, or what should they be doing to get us ready?
Hi everyone, I am in need of a postcard from Missouri...or 2 or even 3! If you are willing to help me out, please respond to the email address via Tnet. I'll then contact you and give you a snail mail address. Thanks so much!
Missouri Baptist is now enrolling for summer. Those of you out of work might wish to add an area that Missouri defines as "high need" to your certification. It's 15 credit hours and a practicum. The intro class is beginning now! Hurry and sign up. You will find the classes enjoyable. Gifted ed. is a great field.
