I have never sub'd before, but am wanting to start. I am degreed but not certified, however I am starting on my Masters in Education. I am located in the KC, north area, but will drive to teach anywhere in the Kansas City area. Any tips on how to get started would be greatly appreciated.

Math Teacher Yes, there is an automated system that's used when teachers call in sick, but teachers can also request a particular sub if they know of the absence in advance. Also, I know some subs that refuse to work for teachers who had left them empty handed with no lesson plans, and that's OK. Our district really respects substitutes.
