Are there any schools on the coast that do not mind hiring alternate route students? I am having a problem finding an upper elementary position. My interviews go very well. I think my lack of experience hurt me. I will have a license soon. Any suggestions??

Harrison County always has positions and never lists them on the websites. You will have to go by the individual schools to drop of resumes.
I was wondering if anyone knows when the MCT2 scores will be returned to the schools? I am just really anxious to see how my students performed- also a little scared. :(
Dr. EWe received our scores on individual students last week. You should be able to look at the scores as a whole and just pick out your students. I was very pleased to see my students scores. I hade over 80% score proficient or advanced. I teach 7th grade math. Look forward to good results. Stay positive.
If you have a moment, will you please help me write a Foundations of Education Paper. I need your responses to the following questions. Your responses can only be one or two sentences.
1. What do you believe is the purpose of school? 2. What things are most important to you in your classroom? 3. What is the most critical job in the classroom, and how do you judge whether you have accommplished it? 4. Why did you choose a carrer in education? 5. What should the social and or cultural role of school be?
You may answer on the chatboard, or e-mail your responses to [email removed].
How does the state expect a teacher making around 40k a year to pay over $600 a month for family coverage? It is absolutely ridiculous! I wonder who I could complain to.

I was scrolling through the old posts today and saw how you were a first-year teacher back in '06. You were talking a pretty good game back then, but stopped posting in the next two years. Did you get fed up and quit, or what?

When a job opens, turn in your application and resume, then contact the local state or federal law maker and any other highly influentual person in that area and have them recommend you. This is almost a sure fire way to get the job.
