Teaching Jobs on Teachers.Net

This afternoon our principal called a quick teachers meeting after school. He announced that every one of us would be receiving RIF letters over the next few days. He could not tell us if we needed to re-apply for our jobs, if this was just a bump in the road, - nothing, except we were getting RIF letters. Is this going on in other school districts here in Mississippi?

novel648 Today, a math teacher and two English teachers were called into the principal's office and told that their contracts were not being renewed. We haven't seen the RIF letters yet, but yesterday we all received an email from the superintendent. The letters are coming along with our contracts next year. novel648 I am really afraid to say. My district is in northeast MS. We have two PK-12 schools in the district. The teachers I'm talking about are from the high school where I teach.
