Do you happen to know any professionals who are interested in teaching but do not have certification? Montana is one of the few states that does not have alternative certification. That can keep people who have built successful careers in math, science, music, art, language, etc. from teaching.
If you know such individuals please let me know. My organization, the Institute for Justice ([link removed].
I was accepted into the Northern Plains Transistion to teaching program and I start classes on Sept. 8th. The biggest worry I have right now are the field experiences. I live in a small town and my first worry is being able to gain access to the sites I need. But I am worried most about the reports that I have to write. What will the instructors be looking for, how long are they supposed tobe, I can drone on forever? Any suggestions will be appreciated.
Steve, What university are you working through? I did a field experience for principal and am now working on one for superintendent. If you are thoughtful and thorough, your professors will love it! Be matter of fact, and don't sweat the big words. Not necessary for a great instructor. Good luck! Email me if you need any help, I'm working on a mentoring grant right now, and would love to be of assistance. > I was accepted into the Northern Plains Transistion to > teaching program and I start classes on Sept. 8th. I am looking for a teacher from Montana to join our postcard exchange. We are ready to begin and Montana is one of a few we are missing. We have 4 international classes that you would be able to exchange with. Thank you for your time.

Marilyn, I too moved from NJ to MT. I had to complete 8 credits - not necessarily anything in particular, just 8 credits to get my cert here. MT does not accept any administration credits, so if you want to be a principal, get ready to do your master's degree over again, like I had to.
Nice place to live, they will only hire recent grads in small towns, but if you email me, I may be able to give you some leads. We are desparate for teachers here. Be prepared to earn about 1/3 of what you do in Jersey.
Good luck!

I am very interested in learning spanish. I travel considerable for my job so attending a regular class wouldn't work. If someone has information on on-line spanish classes or is available to tutor in the Helena area, I would be very interested. Thanks for any information.
I have a California Cleared Credential with Supplements in English and math. Will this credential allow me to teach in Montana? If so, what school districts are looking for teachers? If I had my preferance I would like to teach Middle School Algebra.
Hello everyone! I am graduating from University of Nevada Las Vegas in May after 7 grueling years in school. During that time, I brought 3 beautifull children into this world.Once free from school, I wish to return to the state I grew up in.
I had hoped to do my student teaching in a rural environment out-of-state, but UNLV does not facilitate out-of-state placement. Can anyone give me more information on or help me with the nessesary steps to secure employment in beautiful Montana after graduation?
My oldest daughter will be starting 1st grade in September, I would love for it to be in Big Sky Country! Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!
Hi! I teach in Broadveiw MT, 3rd grade and there is a good possibility that there will be a Kindergarten opening here next year. It is only .65 FTE but there is also a good possibility that a full time position will open up the following year. I great place for a family, you are right about that! Good Luck!

Unfortunately, I had to leave the great state of Montana after graduating from MSU in 2001. There were no jobs in the areas where my family was situated. I don't care about the low pay and now benefits, I would just like a job there :) My husband misses Montana terribly and so do I. I would love a special education teaching job there so keep your ears posted for me! When there is, I am on it!!! RHarris On 1/12/04, Natalie Coxwell wrote: > Hi! Does anyone know anything about the hiring practices for the Flathead Valley? After ten years of subbing, and degrees in Elementary Education, Child Development and Spec. Ed I have had to find employment in the retail secto! Good luck to any successful applicants who are between 20-30 yrs!
