Here's how our exchange works: You are responsible for obtaining, writing and mailing 49 postcards (one to each state). The postcards should have info about your state, your classroom, etc. Please mail your postcards towards the end of September/early October. I will mail out the address list when it's completed (hopefully soon!).
If you'd like to join and your state is listed above, please give me:

Hello!! Our 3-6 grade postcard exchange is looking for a class from Montana to particpate in our exchange!! We already have 27 states and a class from India signed up!! Hope you'll join us too! If interested please email me!!
The following states are still needed to complete our Postcard Exchange: AK, DC, MT, NM, VA,WY ONLY the above states are needed.
If you are interested, please e-mail me your school address. crutherford_308yahoo.com We would love to have you. To find out more about the Postcard Exchange, read on.
I teach 5th grade and find that a postcard exchange ties in well as a geography review, as well as writing--the format of a postcard.
If you choose to join, your job will be to send each participant a postcard. Usually I have my class create one postcard and then photocopy and glue it on individual postcards. In the letter we include information about our state and our school.
Then when we receive the various cards from other states we display them on a bulletin board. I put a U.S. map on the wall and everytime I receive a card we put a pin in that city/state and attach the postcard.
My students love receiving the postcards. They have an opportunity to learn little things about states and schools.
At the end of the summer I will be e-mailing all of the participants a list of addresses that will be involved in the exchange.
Let me know if you have any other questions or if you are interested so I can take your state off of our list.
I am closing the list at the end of this week, so I need you to join now!
Here are the states that we still need:
AK, HI, ID, MT, NE, NV, NH, ND, SD, UT, VT, WY

Hi there! Given that my husband is from MT, we would like to come back to his home! Boy does he miss MT. Can't blame him. I am a certified teacher of the handicap and I currently teach biology and chemistry in a private school in NJ. Any chance of a job opening in the Bozeman area??
I am afraid the chances of teaching in the Bozeman area are dismal to say the least. I graduated from MSU in 2001 and could not find any job (even in special education)that was full-time. Bozeman is a beautiful place and people love to stay there, they hang on to their jobs FOREVER. I would say check at the end of each school year, knock down every door, maybe email principals at the schools with your resume. I would LOVE to get back there, but it doesn't look good for my family. With your other experience in Science and all, you may have a better chance. I am reg ed. K-8 and special education P-12 and couldn't find anything. Good Luck!

Just wanted to hi to your hubby. I'm another Montanan stuck in NJ. From Great Falls, originally. went to MSU..classes of '83,'88,'95.
Bozeman was always a tough place to get a job even when I was there 20 some years ago. Set your sight lower. Small towns might be your in, then work your way up.
Good luck... I would love to go back, but I am stuck here.
