Pull your 20 year retirement and put 10 years into a good state. Invest some of your new check and be happy. North Carolina sucks.

That is my fear! I will begin the renewal process next year. I'm in my 31st year and I don't want to take a pay cut for the last however many more years I may work.

If you have 30+ years, why not leave and collect your pension? You could work somewhere else part-time and still have as much money as you do now.
