Any idea of when we will definitively know what to expect for pay this upcoming year? Any key dates? I'm looking at you History teachers!

A I found one article on teacher pay, which says that that both the House and the Senate have a proposal for teacher pay increases. ELA No matter what info or proposed pay scale I look at from House/Senate - there appears to be no way some of us will get a pay raise. I am at the top of the pay scale ($50,000) and that number doesn't change on any propose scale I have seen. Have been at the top end for several years. A You understand why, don't you? You and I are at the top of the pay scale. We're very close to completing our years and "maxing out" our pensions. By and large, we're not leaving. Or, if we do leave, we leave early with a reduced pension (a win for the state).

Steve If they give raises to everyone except those at the top of
the scale, it will be time to explore an age
discrimination federal lawsuit. They seem to be trying to
discourage older teachers from remaining in the system.

yeppers This has been their goal exactly - get rid of the veteran teachers. They want them all out and they want new people to leave before they can get retirement vesting.
