We are a new postcard exchange, and we need a kinder, first, or second grade class from North Dakota to participate. You will need to purchase 50-55 postcards to mail to all of the other states (and maybe a few to Canada). I am compiling all of the information, and will send all of the addresses out as soon as all of the "spots" are filled. In return, you will receive a postcard from every state, all throughout the year. This is a very exciting project! Please join us!
North Dakota is still available! If you want to participate in this great activity, please email me with your name, school name and address to join the exchange. We will mail out our postcards from 10/1 to 11/15.
I WILL SNAIL MAIL PRE-PRINTED MAILING LABELS for your convenience.
Currently I looked up the positions that are available in Gallup. There are 67 Elementary and Secondary positions that are available. I am sure that if you would like to teach a subject that is not listed on here and you have a college education, I will probably be able to find a position for you. Currently everyone, who has emailed me, I have been able to find a teaching postion for them. I have had a 100% success rate for finding teachers jobs this summer. However, only 8 people have emailed me. Only one of them has a teaching degree. Although, all of them are extremely motivated to teach. All that it takes in order to teach in Gallup is to have a great attitude and a college degree. I have great confidence that those who are going to teach this year will make an impact in this community.
When I was young and my parents were teachers, I shook my head and did not know why they wanted to become a teacher. I just emailed a few people and I submitting a response on why I wanted to become a teacher. I swore I would never enter into that teaching field. Now, many years later, I have joined the teaching profession and swear that I will no longer join another occupation. There seems to be a great intrinsic feeling when a child grasps a concept or when you know that you have made a difference in the world. It is amazing on how fast your actions could be duplicated. A teacher works with 180 different students a year. Those 180 students interact with many more people throught a year. If the actions of what you say can make a difference in the kids that you teach immagine how a lifetime of teaching can change the world. Every one of these positions that I am listing below in this email is available. Some of these positions are listed more than once. They are listed more than once because there are more than one of the same positions available. If you know of anyone who would like to teach in that particular position, please let me know and I will email them. Please send me your address in order for me to send you an application. You can call me if you have any possible questions. You can contact me at:

Let me ask you something....is the teacher pay in the 20's? Will the school district pay $1.75 for gas for the school buses when the price gets there or will they tell Shell/ Texico et al. "Gee we are a school district and we just don't pay that much for gas......hell you should see how little we pay or teachers." The Gas Station owner will say.....hey pal the price is $1.75.. if you don't want to pay the price put water in your school buses and frankly I am not impressed with how little you pay teachers" All states have to start paying a living wage to teachers or they can turn just out the lights and lock the doors. Its nuts to pay $75K for an education to eary $25K less than a mailman, prison guard, car salesman etc Christine

Please join our International Post Card Exchange! We have participants from Canada, Germany, Great Britain, Guam, Poland, and a host of other international locations.
We want to have participants from each state in the US. If you live in one of the following states and would like to participate, please email me ASAP! Thank You
We need: Alaska, Arizona, Connecticut, Delaware, Idaho, Maryland, Massachusetts, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Oregon, Rhode Island, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, D.C., Washington, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.
We have a rep. from each of the 50 states except for ND and I'm hoping you might be interested.
This is our second year and a very fun project.
Here are the specifics of the project:
The USA Postcard Exchange is an easy project for your class to participate in. The kids learn U.S. Geography and have fun at the same time. Each class will send out postcards to all the participating classes at a designated time. If we have 100% participation, your class will receive a postcard from all 50 states. This is the second year I have organized it, and we did pretty well with our 2002-03 project.
IF YOU ARE INTERESTED: To make this project successful, we need ONE classroom from each state.
HOW IT WORKS: If you choose to participate, you would need to get 50 stamps and picture postcards with pictures that represent your state. Then, write and mail them out some time between September and Thanksgiving. Your class will then generate together a note that tell how your state is unique. For example, the message may include information about your state, including landmarks, history, state symbols, etc. This is a one time mailing. I will supply the format for mailing labels wth the correct classroom addresses so you can conveniently attach them to the postcards.
If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask me.
