We need a teacher from Nebraska to join our postcard exchange. If you are interested, please email me. I need your school address and an email. I'll email you the list as soon as it is complete. Thanks, Monica
We still need: AK, DE, HI, MN, MT, NE, NM, ND, OR, SC, SD, UT, VT, WV, WY
Our project centers around a stuffed puppy named Ollie! He wants to travel across the country meeting children from each state. We are looking for a participating class from EACH OF THE 50 STATES! (This project combines a traveling buddy and a 50 state postcard exchange)
TO LEARN MORE… [link removed].
Ollie will travel around the country. He will have time to visit each class for ONE DAY ONLY. If he stayed longer, and it took him a week to get to the next state, it would end up taking almost a full year for his journey (remember, there are 50 states and 52 weeks in a year)!! We want to hurry him along on his journey so that he is able to make a full trip around the United States before school lets out for summer (many let out in May).
Each class will send a postcard to the other classes to let them know that Ollie has arrived safely. We can learn more about your area if you also include other information about your state.
Please also send 1-2 paragraphs by email describing what your class did with Ollie. Include digital pictures and/or links to your classroom or school web pages! I will add this to his online travel journal, so all classes can keep track of his travels!
IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN SIGNING UP, please copy and paste the following information into an email and send it to [email removed])
CONTACT INFORMATION: Full Name: "School Name" (ex. Mrs. Stamp): Grade: School Name: School Address: School City, State, and Zip: Work Phone Number (including area code): Email: Classroom or School Web Address: [link removed]:
We are a different postcard exchange than the ones posted below. We are a Kindergarten/first grade postcard exchange. We also need Nebraska! First one to email me gets it! :) [email removed]
I am hoping to find a teaching position, elementary grades, in rural Nebraska, starting in January, 2007, or at the latest, in the 2007/2008 school year. I would be relocating from IL. Does anyone know of a rural teaching position that may be open at that time, at the elementary grades level? I am especially interested in the northwestern part of Nebraska.
I may be a little late with this message, but I just resigned from a Special education teaching position in Fairbury, NE. It's in the south east part of the sate. There was another specail education teacher that resigned too, and they are really desparate for someone. The population of the town is only 4,262, very rural....

Lulu, Thanks for your response. As much as I'd hoped to find a very rural teaching position, oddly enough, I ended up teaching in an inner-city school in Decatur, IL! Who would have thought I would find it so rewarding, but I do! My first love is still very remote, rural areas, however I do find my present job quite satisfying. I taught third grade this past year, and I will be teaching kindergarten for the first time this fall. Again, thank you so much for your kind and thoughtful response to my post. I hope your school finds a good replacement for your previous position, and I wish you well in your new endeavors. Barbara Disney

Hi! I am trying to find out if anyone in Nebraska is using my music yet, just out of curiousity. I know of 34 out of 50 states that have at least one person that uses HeidiSongs- but not Nebraska. Is there anyone from Nebraska out there using Sing and Spell or Jumpin' Numbers? Heidi
I am in need of a NE teacher to join my 50 state postcard exchange. I only have a few states left. If you can help me out, please email me at [email removed]
