April student testing

With April upon us, I have a question about preparing students for assessment tests. My daughter tells me that at her elementary school, the teachers went to pretty far lengths to make sure students were more than ready for the tests. This includes backing the tests with red and purple construction paper (red and purple help a person focus), banning the color green (green is distracting) and insisting girls with long hair wear ponytails (hair in the face is distracting). Do any teachers out there have similar tales of such testing-day aids?
