Dear fellow teachers, I am a Spanish citizen who lives n Canada - I will soon be a Canadian citizen). I have a certificate of eligibility in Spanish, French and Latin in New Hampshire and would like to work there. Could you help me find a job anywhere in the granite state? Thanks in advance.
I am a teacher and coach in North Carolina and would love to come to New Hampshire. Looking for a cross-country coaching job and track. I am currently a P.E. Teacher and coach at a High School. I have been in the district 12 years and love it but, all my family is up North. With a wife and baby boy we are looking to be closer to family. I ran in New Hampshire and was an all-state cc and track runner and ran in college. My wife is a teacher as well and is certified in Home Economics. Steve
I will be graduating in the summer with a degree in Mathematics and also I am from NJ. I have my SOE and have been applying for jobs. I have submitted applications to Windham, Nashua, Concord, Plaistow, North Conway, Londonderry and will be sending out more. My wife and I want to start a family in NH but of course it depends on my job.
My problem: I am not hearing anything back from schools, I have called to get information but I feel that they are not taking me seriously becasue I am out of state. My questions are: 1. Does NH schools wait until a certain date to hire or can they hire anytime? 2. How long should I wait before I call for a follow-up and would it be alright if I asked if I was considered for the position? 3. How can I assure them that I am serious about the position, since I am out of state? 4. Does anyone know a school that is hiring for a Math teacher that coaches also? 5. When should I give up or should I?
In many of the SAUs in the Granite State, the Peter Principal applies. You are going to face a great deal of cronyism and nepotism. Human Resources departments take agonizingly long to get back to candidates especially "flatlanders." Once employed, it is more important to fit in with the "click" of veteran teachers in whatever school here that dictates the activities than being a highly competent instructor. Tenure is more based upon the ability to ingratiate yourself than with true talent. It is worse the farther north you go, Kevin.
Good luck, Sammy

I would really appreciate your input for a book that my colleague and I are writing for teachers. This book will give teachers ways to help their students become engaged and motivated, as well as practical tools to deal with students difficulties in learning.
I know this is an old post but....maybe you'd KEEP the best
and brightest if you PAID us decently.
