I am looking for a student teaching experience working with students with mild/moderate special needs. I live near the Nashua, NH area and need a internship 3 days a week under the supervision of special education teacher. If anyone has any contacts or leads can you let me know. I need to start in January 2007, trying to get a head start. Thanks!!
I have been a teacher for fifteen years, more or less, and I would like to branch out into a different position as a professional reader for books on tape, for example, but would like to know where to begin. I have some ideas but am looking for some concrete advice and leads. Anyone out there have some info to share?
Most popular books on tape are read by actors. This link brings you to a site for textbooks on tape. They use voluteers to make their tapes.

Thanks for response DOTB... I have not been successful in this particular job search. Perhaps it was just a passing fancy.

I am a technology edcation teacher for a high school at Baltimore, Maryland. I want to relocate to New Hampshire next spring semester. How is the job market there? I have a provisional certificate. I also can teach math, computer science and physics.

Are you saying to live in NH and work in MA? What about the income taxes? Is it easy to get MA certified? I'm in NC originally from VT and have licenses in both states and want to come home. How easy or difficult is it to find an elem educ job in NH anyway? Thanks for any info.

About 1/3 of the residents of NH work in Mass (in any field). Teacher salaries are much higher in MA so the income tax really isn't as big a deal. Just remember that the property tax in NH is higher so they do get you coming and going. I'm pretty sure that the difference in salary makes up for it though.
I think that the job availability in Mass is a bit more competitive.
>Is it easy to get MA certified?
To get Mass certified you need to take Mass Exams, they don't use the Praxis. Look on the Mass Board of Ed site for more details.
Our group needs NH to help complete our postcard exchange. You will be responsible for mailing a postcard to each state and you will receive one from each state. If you are interested, email me directly at [email removed]
I am a graduate student at Texas A&M University, Corpus Christi. I am conducting research for my master's degree in Curriculum & Instruction, specializing in math. Specifically, I created a survey regarding the role of virtual manipulatives in today's mathematics classroom. I am in the process of distributing this survey to as many mathematics teachers as possible. Your help would be greatly appreciated. Below is a direct link to the survey:

PLEASE forward this e-mail on to any teachers you know who are currently teaching mathematics-- elementary, middle, or high school. With your help, I hope to receive results from all over the country.
Any help you can provide in publicizing this survey is greatly appreciated.
I am graduating in May from New York with a B.S. in Early Childhood Education (birth - 2nd grade). I am from New Hampshire and plan to move back up. My predicament is that I am not an ordinary student, and I need to find employment pretty soon, even though I have one semester left. I am 27 with a wife and two young boys and need to move two weeks after I graduate (we live on-campus, married housing). I have a 4.0 in my education courses and would like to teach kindergarten, first grade, or second grade. If anyone knows how they can help me, or have any advice, I'm all ears. Thanks.
There are districts that always have openings. They include Claremont, Rochester, Fall Mountain, Mascoma, Newport, Manchester. I suggest applying to them and watch for openings. Go to [link removed]
Did you try NH Dept of Education? You might also want to try to call different schools to see if they can help you at least find out where to get the info. Hope this helps. Susan
