Mock elections, women’s suffrage offered in Humanities
Council programs
Public and teachers invited to learn about voting history,
contemporary issues

CONCORD – School teachers are invited to learn about the
history of voting and contemporary issues confronting
democracy in a series of workshops sponsored by the N.H.
Humanities Council. The public is invited to attend free
events on Sept. 21 and Oct. 12 which accompany the
workshops.
The series begins Thursday, Sept. 21, with “Vote!
Democratic Simulations for the Classroom” at Saint Anselm
College in Manchester. Teachers will learn to run a mock
election and a Congressional simulation. More than 40,000
students in New Hampshire have been involved in the
National Mock Election project, led by and schoolteacher
