I've completed my masters and I've decided to teach high school. My friends who teach completed their certifications through the University while they were working towards their degrees and were offered positions upon graduating. So these are my questions ... I finished my MA at a California university and plan to live in CA long term, but I'm in NJ at the moment. I want to teach high school art classes, which will require a single subject certification.

1)Should I try alternate route here in NJ or just head to CA and take the CBEST+CSET? Are there any complications with having an out of state certification?

2)If I go to CA and past the required test how would I go about getting an internship/alternate route so I can complete student teaching? I've searched [link removed].

sorry for the length, any help would be awesome
