njteacher Steve, Thank you for responding to my post. I spoke with the principal and he stated that they are interviewing other candidates but that I am still at the top of their list and that they hope to make a decision by the end of next week.

How do our school districts determine who they reappoint? And what if two non tenured Art teachers were both pink slipped in June, and one can get reappointed back. How do they determine who they take back....

sg For tenured teachers seniority determines who is kept on or rehired first. For non-tenured it does not matter who was there first. They can bring back someone with 1 year experience before someone who is about to get tenure and not really give any reasons.

sorry to break this news to you but.. There is no such thing as seniority among nontenured staff... you will get called back if they want to call you... just the sad reality...

Anyone who was pink-slipped having trouble with unemployment? I applied July 3rd and my account is still pended although they are having me claim every two weeks with the intent that I'll be credited those weeks. Already a month...just curious if any other teachers having similar issues.

EchoohcE I got the run around to until I wrote the governor personally in a determined rant and within a few days it was taken care of.

But I'd rather have a job. I can't find a job to save my life.
