What is the pay like for NJ Charter Schools? Can you obtain your Standard Certification (from CEAS) after working a year in a Charter like you would in a Public School? Thanks!

Everything is the same...From salary to certification, mentoring to pension!
In my district, incredibly detailed daily lesson plans are being introduced to fulfill the common core content standards. Is anybody else experiencing this? In my view, as well as from other people, these revamped lps will not add to any contstructive in the classroom.
Is there a web site to verify the type of certification that a teacher has? I have been on the state employee web site via nj.com and it is not up to date with new teachers.
JulieThanks Jerry just checked the link you provided and it is from 2010. I know other states have updated websites I can not imagine why NJ does not have one.

You may be able to get this job if you work at a low income school district, where they are desperate to find teachers, because nobody wants to work there. I have a coworker who did alternate route in NJ and worked as a spanish teacher in Newark

I had an improper behavior charge against me several years ago, (was breaking up a fight between two drunk women, I got caught in the middle and that's what the police witnessed) that did not count against me.

You know once you have a sanction against you on a teaching license it follows you across state lines and for life.
