I posted looking for musicians but someone found the need to report it. It wasn't "educational", but many of the posts on the main board aren't either. Guess someone here felt a duty to report it, thanks!!!
i have a questions on the 60 resignation rule, is that in the union contract or the state contract? we are part of the admin staff and not a teacher however we do belong to the teachers union. thanks
My name is Anna, and I am a doctoral candidate in Sociology at the CUNY Graduate Center in New York. I'm currently working on my dissertation examining the uses of digital media in sexual assault cases among teenagers, and am seeking contacts in public high schools in New Jersey (not including Newark); these could be teachers like yourselves, principals, etc. My ultimate aim is to conduct focus group interviews with high school students in a handful of schools about how teens use digital media platforms. However, to get there, I first need contacts in schools in these areas who will provide me with the opportunity to speak to their principals about their schools participating in the research (parental permission and student consent will follow). I would encourage any of you who think your school would be open to this project to contact me. You may also forward this message to other teachers/principals you know in these locations who you think might be interested in participating.
If you are interested or have further questions about the study, please email me directly at [email removed].
Thank you in advance for your assistance. I look forward to hearing from you.
Hello fellow teachers. This is my first time teaching financial literacy course. There is no text books, just some very vague objectives. I am wondering other teachers who have experiences teaching this course, could you please share me with some open sources or recommend some good textbook that I can rely on?
Can anyone tell me what happens to your teaching certification if you fail to give a full 60 days notice? The job I would be taking is not in education (I'm not sure I will be returning education but I don't know if I want to completely lose my license). The district knows I am already leaving in June. I appreciate your help.
ron/njIt has to be something serious to pull someone's license like sexual or stealing. The state can't remove or suspend a license for just not giving the 60 days notice.
I've heard about emergency certification. What is it and can I be considered for it. I am three credits away from being eligible of taking the PRAXIS for Middle School Spanish teacher. My district is hiring a full-time Spanish teacher to teach k-8 and still do not have anyone to fill the position.
what is the general hiring process? I had the interview and the district's board meeting is coming up soon. will the name of the recommended candidate be presented to the board first or will I (or the candidate) be contacted first.

In my district the candidate is notified prior to the board meeting, but the hiring is not official until the board meeting occurs.
