I would like to teach art in NJ. I have no formal teaching training aside from completing a series of competency based trainings delivered by the Department of Defense for Child & Youth Program Assistants. I have recently taken and passed the Praxis II Art Content exam but I have been told this is not enough. Can anyone point me in the correct direction? What do I do next? I read about "district training," how does that work and am I eligible to participate in one of those?
Echo Lenny, first you will need as a basic, a four year degree from an accredited university or college. Without a college degree from a 4 year college you will not be able to teach.
