Is there a web site to verify the type of certification that a teacher has? I have been on the state employee web site via nj.com and it is not up to date with new teachers.

Thanks, Julie

Julie Thank you, I went through the DOE web site and there is nothing. I did many searches and the only databases that I found have not been updated in years.

I thought all states had to have them too, I guess New Jersey either does not, or it is hidden under another title. I tried every possible word in my search that I could think of.

anon Logically there should be a teacher lookup there; you probably noticed there is a website that has license lookups for a wide variety of occupations but not teachers.

Julie I really thought that this was public record, and yes all states seem to have them but not New Jersey.

Julie Thanks Jerry just checked the link you provided and it is from 2010. I know other states have updated websites I can not imagine why NJ does not have one.
