Kaplan Test Prep & Admissions, UNM’s Alpha Epsilon Delta, and UNM’s BA/MD Program would like to invite you to participate in the First Annual UNM Medical School Panel that will be held November 9th in the UNM SUB Ballroom A at 7:30pm.
The Med School Panel is a free public service career forum being hosted by Kaplan in several cities this fall for prospective medical school students. The objective of the event is to provide prospective medical school applicants with an insider's look at both how to get into medical school as well as how to make smart career choices upon receiving a medical degree. It is designed to promote medical school and encourage people to consider a career in medicine.
The panel will be composed of three to four medical school admissions officers as well as current medical students, and prominent medical leaders who will share their practical admissions advice as well as real-world experiences. Our panelists will each give a brief presentation highlighting their individual medical experiences including your choice of medical school and career path. They will then answer a series of basic questions re: their medical school and career choice. The event will end with a short Q & A.
If you know of any pre- premed students that might be interested, please share this information with them. This would be a great experience for them, meeting other premed students at the collegiate level, but also gaining valuable insight into the medical profession prior to their college careers. Please feel free to contact me via email at maralyn.[email removed]!
Sincerely,
Maralyn Beck Program Coordinator Kaplan Test Prep & Admissions
Hi - this is my first time on NM teachers chatboard. I was wondering if anyone out there is happy with their math program? Since we are adopting math materials this year, I would like to hear some comments from teachers who are early childhood (K-1). I see so many workbooks out on the market -- and less and less manipulatives for math. Any recommendations?
Any comments on Santa Fe Community College's online alternative licensure program?
Isn't a principal less likely to hire such a graduate, compared to someone with either a conventional degree or a non-online alternative licensure program?
I have a Level III -A Instructional Leader Certificate - Lifetime, Sped K - 12, and Secondary Lang. Arts and Social Studies issued by the N.M. Educ. Department., taught sped at all levels in N.M. for 38 years, and retired two years ago. Born and raised in N.M. Went to college in New Mexico.
Went to the Grants personnel office to inquire about subing. Among other things, I had to OBSERVE for a day so I'd have " some idea how to teach school". DUH!
When I presented a resume with my credentials and experience, I was told I had to observe anyway.
This same district has been searching for a sped director for months. I have yet to be able to schedule an interview. Politics! That's your tax dollars at work.
A great way to treat someone who taught primarily sped BD all those years.
