Hi, I am new to this message board. I am wondering since I have retired. I retired early, that the district I applied to might hesitate to hire an older teacher. I am finishing my doctorate and have a lot of years left to work in the profession. Please help me with this concern. Thank you, Sincerely, Roger

I am newly licensed in NM, and a brand-new teacher, but I am still living out of state. We are relocating this summer.
I want to know more info about librarians in NM. I see on the NMPED site that I could work as a librarian with either a license endorsement or the library coursework. Have you seen schools hire an teacher with limited experience and no masters, but has the license endorsement? I am trying to figure out my quickest path to eligibility for librarian jobs.
i am looking into becoming a teacher... but i was trying to see if new mexico accepts degrees from the university of phoenix online? they are regionally accredited... i need to know ASAP i enrolled with them if they are not accepted then i need to cancle NOW! my reasons for online educaions is i have an infant and online is alot easier with a child than attending the university itself... someon please help me
I really would recommend checking out Western Governors University. They are 100% online, and much less expensive than Phoenix. Their degree is accepted, I got mine from there and just got licensed last month.

I would like to know what the pay is for a substitute teacher in New Mexico? I just received certification for NJ but I am thinking of moving to NM. Do I need to be certified again?
As part of a graduate research project, I need to gather data from current teachers. I’m researching the use of technology in the classroom and what factors affect it. If you could just take a few minutes to complete my survey, I’d appreciate it. The survey is online and has 15 questions.
New Mexico is one of the 3 states in which I don't have a survey response yet. If anyone could please take a moment to complete the survey, I'd really appreciate it. I promise, it's quick! :o)
Thanks so much!

I have applied to the Jemez Mountain T2T program. Has anyone had any experience with this transition to teaching program? Any suggestions on which schools would be good for a new teacher. I have already read posts regarding the reservation schools, but would like some feedback on the Alburquerque schools. Thank you.
rezzyI did T2T in Gallup, and it was great. In this state, so much depends on finding somebody who doesn't give you the runaround, so it'll probably depend on who's running the program in the Jemez area.
LizThanks for sharing! I submitted all the paperwork, but can't interview since I live out of state. They did encourage me to apply to the Santa Fe CC on-line program which I have just done. I'm glad you had a good experience. At least you did secure a job, and that's the most important thing.
I heard that getting an a TESOL endorsement is fairly easy, an $80 test. I looked through the PED site, but I wasn't able to find any information on where I can take this test. Can anybody direct me to a link with information?

I am so anxious for my dossier results. I submitted on June 30th. I know it takes 30-60 days, but has anybody experienced getting their results sooner?
