Hello from Florida!

We're currently stationed at Eglin AFB. My husband and I
will be moving to the Las Cruces/Alamagordo next summer
when he retires from the AF. I've taught (Civil Service)
in Air Force tech schools and faculty development for
almost ten years, but have no formal teaching
certification. I've also subbed (K-12) in Texas and
Montana.

My goal is to work part time as a substitute once we
move...could someone advise me as to the pay, certification
requirements, and general atmosphere for subs?

Thanks!
Jan

P.S. I've enjoyed reading the threads on this board--very
helpful.

I see all the discussion about substitute teaching and pay. I am hoping
someone can help me find the requirements and pay scale for silver city
New Mexico.

I have a Bachelors and a Masters degree.

Subbing in Albuquerque might not be too bad, depending on the area. No
comment on the other.

I sub in Lovingto, with my BS degree. I get $75 a day. I have been
other places and they get a lot whole lot more. With out my degree,
I would only get $45 without any school hours, $55 with an AA
In Hobbs a sub with a degree gets $55, non degree gets $50. What's
up with that? Texas is a better paying job for...See More
