If this does not convince you, nothing will. 20 years ago, I earned more working in a union factory back east with a high school diploma than I make now as a teacher with 13 years experience, over 6 years of college, and $60,000 in student loans to pay. In 2013 dollars, it would be at least $80,000 and I only worked 4 days a week.

The school I am teaching, new evaluation is based on students test score (50% of our evaluation) teachers are required to write a Student Learning Objective (SLO) what is already done in NY and NJ states. Not meeting the SLO will effect our evaluation. Anyone has it?

Tom It is garbage I agree. The school I am teaching we are still using the springboard for math algebra 1 and 2 and pre calculus. The principal, at the request of CCSD makes sure we are using springboard. It doesn't work well so far and they keep telling us it will get better.

Get to work with 4th grade advanced students for first half of my day everyday and I can see what is wrong with Nevada!! Half of the 30 kids can not print their name so you can read it and only a couple can answer in complete sentences and CCSD calls these kids advanced. I am happy that there is a forum where people can express there opinions. From what I have read so far there are honest replies. There is also sarcasm. People are simply expressing their views and feelings on the topic and I respect that.

The sarcasm was simply lame on the part of that poster, who wants everybody to believe principal abuse of teachers doesn't happen, and, if it does, the teachers deserve what they get. I started with CCSD in January for the 12/13 school year and now working this school yr 13/14. I was wondering if I'm eligible to transfer to a different school next year if I'm on probation? I'm hoping to get through my first year and be done with probation.

Obama is a FASCIST just like George Bush and all presidents before them, as evidenced by the $13 billion bribe to the Justice Department by J.P. Morgan and another +$800 million bribe en route from Bank of America to avoid legal action and further promote CRONY capitalism and corporate corruption. Republicans support Medicare and Social Security just as the democrats do, and of the 376 drone strikes, many of which killed and injured hundreds to thousands of innocent people, Obama launched 348 of them! Not to mention "kinetic conflict" in Libya, and the backing of Al-Qaeda rebels in Syria. Lets not forget that the president received the Nobel PEACE prize for this stellar performance. The democrats, supposedly defenders of civil liberties not only supported the creation of the DHS and the rapid expansion of the surveillance state under the Patriot Act, but they have taken Nazi-style propaganda, media crackdowns, war on free speech, and covert (anti 4th amendment) surveillance to a GLOBAL level. Democrats represent the epitome of naivity: they support the failed institution that is government blindly, with moral inconsistency and unwavering loyalty. Despite the mountain of evidence that government mismanages and inefficiently runs EVERYTHING that it touches, the statists (left) still believe mommy knows best- That govt. has a MORAL obligation to prevent fat people from drinking 20 ounce sodas. That by banning assault rifles the country will become a peaceful utopia in an instant, by using FORCE and COERCION to make completely healthy people who eat right and exercise regularly to pay for smokers' and fat people's health care is moral. Our infrastructure, postal system, food and water supply- even the day-to-day operation of government is nothing short of horrendous- and yet democrats want MORE government, MORE mediocrity. At least the snaggle-toothed, uneducated, guns and God clinging inbreds of the South (liberal sarcasm intended) would rather rot in their poverty-infested trailer parks than ask the government for a handout. Democrats support the thieving hands of government to take any and everything from me by FORCE: liberty, money, and freedom.

anon Short answer is, yes, he did. He ran third party on the Justice Party ticket. It was an extremely low-key campaign, but there was NO way I was voting for either Obama or Romney. First time ever I voted third party for president.
