The only way is to obtain a attorney (not union a real attorney) and file a civil lawsuit against them. However be prepaired they can file a counter lawsuit against you.
I retired at the end of 2015 with over 100 sick days and well over 10 years of service. The following fiscal year (2016- 2017) the district must calculate remaining sick leave payments by end of December. Anyone know when the payments will be sent, or how I can find out? Thanks.
I had a very similar experience after working at a middle school on the east side of the valley. After two years of glowing reviews, they moved me to a different grade level. I was bullied by a teacher, who eventually left, which brought the unwanted attentions of a supervisor. For the next six years, I was harassed, bullied, belittled, on a weekly basis, by my supervisor. Weekly. For six years. I tried to involve my union. After the first year of bullying, and weekly interrogations, official ones, where I'd receive an email at the beginning of the day, informing me that I needed to see my boss at the end of the day. It took two years for the union to make her tell me at the end of the day, because she would put me in such panic that I couldn't teach. And I'd have no information given to me about what I had done. It got to the point that the last three years of my career, I had nervous breakdowns, and became suicidal to the point of mandatory hospitalization. Twice. The only break I had from it was when I was pregnant that year, and she left me alone. Meaning, that she knew what she was doing to me. And that I wasn't bad enough that she had to continue to harass me for the year that I was pregnant. If I was such a bad teacher and a danger to them in some way, or so unprofessional, why would that stop just because of that? She wouldn't let me transfer schools, any review I had condemned me to stay there if I wanted to work. Twice a year, or more, I would request , formally , and informally, to be assigned to a new supervisor. After years of this, she left me alone about my teaching, and then made every interrogation afterwards about my personal life and personal conduct. I was watched and followed. Put into conditional agreements that she knew I would fail, until I would crack. I know she enjoys it. The last time any paper work was put in front of me, by her, she slapped it down, like a tv show, gotcha style. It's sick. I hate working for women. She needed to be focusing on other things instead of chasing me. And before it was me, it was someone else. And now that I resigned, under threat of being fired, she's onto others. She's known for her viciousness, but she wears it like a badge or honor. Like being all stick and no carrot is somehow a good thing. It saddens me to think that I'm even considering going back. But I will do everything I can to not work for a woman, because somehow being a man and a boss in CCSD, is a completely different, almost relaxing experience

Not necessarily. At least not at Washoe County. I had a male principal who was a sociopath, the first and perhaps only sociopath I had ever worked for in nearly 40 years in the labor force in a variety of organizations and occupations. He tried to get me to cheat regarding special ed alternate testing, I refused, and then he made my life hell. He also was having sex with subordinates, even on campus, until he was demoted for awhile. He helped to damage my career, which has never gotten back on track after I was illegally fired by a woman principal, who was coerced to do it by a male head of human resources.
The sex of the principal or administrator has little to do with whether or not you have a career. Their connections are what are important.

I cannot stress this enough. Do not EVER apply to a state that does NOT pay into Social Security. You will be SCREWED every which way if you do it. Frankly, you are FAR better off staying where you are.
If you are going to relocate, find a state that pays into SS and therefore is without the penalties of WEP and GPO. I am serious about this. It would be foolish in the extreme to take a job in Nevada.
I am somebody who got a mere 5.04 years service credit in Nevada PERS. A get a tiny pension of $318 a month. Even with that piddling amount, because I don't have 30 years of "substantial earnings" into SS, I will be penalized $119 a month in Social Security when I will be getting it next March. I will have less than $1100 a month combined SS and PERS. The penalty will cost me over 1400 a year, money I desperately need to survive and is certainly no windfall.
Given your age and the fact you can easily get fired in Nevada as a teacher, you will NOT get enough time in Nevada PERS to even make it worth moving out here.
States that do not pay into SS:
Alaska California Colorado Connecticut Georgia (certain local governments) Illinois Kentucky (certain local governments) Louisiana Maine Massachusetts Missouri Nevada Ohio Rhode Island (certain local governments) Texas
All presentations and labs are free of cost to schools and students. I cover all expenses including the student take-home items.
Imagine how students would feel as they see one of their own being outfitted as a Roman Legionnaire right before their eyes with: a cloth tunic, real leather armor, metal legionnaire helmet, metal shield, metal sword and metal/wood pike. Students will learn how ancient Romans actually lived without technology we take for granted.
Or perhaps they would like to watch a student transform into a Medieval Knight in the classroom by donning: cloth under tunic, real metal chainmail (body and head), cloth over tunic, metal helmet, metal shield, real long sword (almost as long as they are tall), real dagger and Medieval cape Students will learn how Medieval people actually lived and acted.
All of the above items are real – not Halloween costumes. Note that the swords, pike, and dagger are considered weapons and will be brought in only with written permission from the Principal.
Maybe students would like learning about:
magnetic force by seeing a baseball levitate before them or a cylinder that spins in mid-air without support
observing static electricity by watching objects float through the air under control of a wand (magic?)
light by seeing it split into the colors of the rainbow through their own diffraction glasses
a bracelet with beads that are white when in the room but change color when exposed to sunlight
plasma energy and control it with their own hands!
What wonderful and enchanting shapes and colors minerals become in their crystal form.
about some of the strange, dangerous creatures that have lived during the last 500 million years
actual fossils, see close-up full sized skulls of Smilodon and Velociraptor
explore a replica of a Mastodon, T-Rex, or Spinosaurus tooth
see and hold items from strange things living in Earth’s oceans today
see and hold specimens of fantastic insects that crawl on the ground or fly through the air
participate in a lab activity:
fossil hunt fossil dig gems minerals rocks
I will distribute one or more take-home items which pertain to the presentation or lab to each student upon completion of that presentation or lab. Also, each student will receive a pencil, ruler, and eraser of their choice.
All presentations and labs are based on PowerPoint - a computer (PC not Mac please), projector or Smartscreen, and audio ability are required (I can provide PC, projector and speakers if necessary). Table space will be required for display items.
Presentation and lab times are approximate and can vary greatly depending on the number of students, student participation, time allowed by the classroom teacher for observing display items, etc.

I would be happy to bring any Las Vegas elementary school administrator a folder which has details of the presentations I have prepared. Or I can provide a USB flash drive with a self-running PowerPoint show if requested (PowerPoint 2013 and an older 97-2003 version). Please e-mail me at your convenience if you have any interest in having me present one, or several, of these to your students at [email removed]
Please note that take-home items, which are not always available from my suppliers, and presentation schedules are on a first-come-first-served basis (however, priority will be given to East Las Vegas schools).
