Apparently Sandoval wants to support TFA (Teach for America- -you know, those recent graduates who don't know what else to do--not coming out of college certified to teach) with TWO MILLION $$$ in subsidies.

Why? Seems to me that the $2 million could be much better used supporting the teachers already hired, hiring people who come out of college certified, going back to reduced class sizes, etc. etc. etc.

Sandoval also supports "school choice." Does that include choice ($$$) going to religious schools?

We all need to write letters to the editor!

surprise that he thinks this way. We really need to fight against him (and, apparently, Sandoval) regarding TFA and vouchers. The rs would like nothing better than to head toward total privatization of public schools.

Watcher He said that there are 22000 teachers and maybe only 2000 are very good. He also added that he wasn't sure on the exact number. My question for him is how arrived at the number? For someone who wants test scores tied to salaries and data, kind of funny how when he diss'es teachers, he doesn't have a shred of evidence.
