Starting mid year salary question

I started teaching earlier this month. My contract says I have 77 days in my contract, but of course will get paid In the summer. I understand how they get the daily rate and semi month gross pay, BUT why is the semi gross pay less than what I figured? Will this amount change when I get paid this September? I'm planning on calling but would like clarification. I'm thinking it has to change because of course there will be more days in my contract starting at the beginning of the year. The amount just throws me off because I taught for ccsd 2 yrs ago and was making 6k less and my semi grosspay was more than what it is now. And I started 2 months after the school year started at that time. If anyone can clarify this, I'd like to hear your explanation:)
