-- Good interface for adding user made questions -- Good quality questions in question bank -- Ability to choose a "State Standard" for Ohio and have generator randomly select questions from this standard and add them to the test. -- Ability to print out multiple versions of the test.
Can anyone help me with this?
I am currently using the "Test Wizard" but the interface is a bit clunky and the questions are of average quality, and they are not organized according to the state standards of Ohio.
I am trying to understand the new Ohio law that requires teachers to obtain their reading endorsement by next school year. Does anyone have ideas of how they are going to accomplish this? Please let me know your thoughts. Thanks!
I have read most of the law and here is what I think will happen:
Next year: any teacher with that RE will be placed in third grade (of course no extra compensation) but that RE will be like gold for job security. I don't believe there is anything in the law that checks to see if that golden RE teacher is doing an effective job. She/he gets to stay and the nonRE teacher gets moved or Riffed?
All teachers who don't have the RE had better consider getting one or retiring or finding other employment. It will be increasingly difficult to keep your job K-5 in the near future if you don't have that RE. Also, you need to stay fully employed as a classroom or reading teacher. Don't take that year off or you will get disqualified (one of the sillier aspects of the law that needs amending. For example, they can't ask "super effective retired teacher" or "took a year off to raise the baby teacher" because you have to stay employed THREE consecutive years.
Go to the ODE website and search for info. I was pretty much in shock when I first heard about it and it was a little worse than what people told me! Yikes.
MCA is considering expanding into Ohio's voucher schools program for the '13-'14 school year. We are searching for a lead administrator in the Columbus area. If interested, please respond to our email with details of your interests and qualifications: [email removed]
Hi! I'm seeking input regarding what professional teacher groups teachers really belong. I often advise per-service teachers to join KappaDelta Pi, NAEYC, CEC, etc... But, do in-service teachers really belong to these groups?
I was just hired as a 7th and 8th grade science teacher in Ohio. There are so many new standards, and I feel that the standards are difficult to read/interpret what exactly needs to be covered.
Does anyone have any "I can" statements, or pacing guides generated?? Really anything will help! I have nothing prepared and school has already begun.
Do you want an opportunity to take part in research that could positively impact your students and your classroom? By participating in our short survey, you will be helping us collect data for a study investigating obstacles and feasibility of psychological recommendations. Because these scenarios may be similar to what you have seen in your classroom, your input is very valuable! Once you complete the survey, you will be eligible for a $25 gift certificate to reallygoodstuff.com. Please feel free to pass this along to your teacher friends and co-workers as we need as many responses as we can get! All responses are completely confidential and participation is optional. Thank you!
