Mild Moderate Disabilites Test

I took over for a teacher who quit. Am teaching LD Math 7th 8th 9th. I am a retired elementary teacher (30 Years) Have decided to take the OSAT Mild Moderate Test. Can anyone help with exactly what I need to study? I would really appreciate any help.

Mid Level Science Test

I have my Eled degree, but love science. I thought I would try to take the mid level science test. I have downloaded the study guide from the certification website but I feel that it is too generic. Any suggestions on what else to study?

School districts in Norman Area

We currently live in Ft. Worth but my husband is interviewing for a job in the Norman area. I grew up in Oklahoma City and taught in Edmond right out of college so I know about those districts, but don't know much about the Norman and surrounding districts. Any input would be great.

LB Do you mean a hiring freeze for academic year 2008-2009? Will they begin hiring for 2009-2010 after determining enrollment needs and teacher contracts?

Prairie Rain It depends on MONEY. The freeze may or may not continue for the next school year. But, some teachers have been told to expect the freeze to continue if nothing (budget-wise) changes.

Warriors The OGET is basically the same as the ACT you took in high school except now you've had college/work experience to add to it. It wasn't a big deal. The Biological Science OSAT wasn't terrible, but I thought the essay was pretty difficult. what are teacher's rights when it comes to planning time during the school day? can secondary teachers expect preparation time during the school day? for example a 6 hour class schedule a teacher would get 1 class period for planning. what about a coach who coaches during 6th hour athletics? does a coach get a planning period?

Jessica Last time I checked on this, schools are not required to provide a planning period for teachers. But if there is an issue and you feel you are being treated unfairly, you can contact the OEA and they may be able to mediate for you.
