I am confused. Do you have to get certified in the subject of your degree or can you test for any subject? I am a desinger with an art degree that wants to teach social studies.

If I understood correctly, you HAVE to test in the subject you are degreedin, and then can take any other subject.
She is right, you are given a 'classification' for your Art degree and you have to pass that as a part of your Subject Area test and then after you receive your passing core, then you schedule to take your test in Social Studies..
I know that most districts held their job fairs back in April/May, but does anyone know if any districts in the OKC area will be conducting any last minute job fairs?
My OSAT score comes back June 26th, and I'm adamantly job searching in the meantime...

If ...See MoreI did not pass the OPTE this time. I was wondering if the 6- 12 opte was easier to take than the pk-8 grade opte. I' m alternatively certified and made it with flying colors through my entry level year, it stinks that I made a 238 on the pk-8 grade opte, anyone have any comments or suggestions how to pass would be greatly appreciated.
If anyone remembers any of the essay questions I would appreciate it. Thanks
Justin - how did you access your scores? Did you receive them via email, snail mail, online? I've tried to access them online, but no luck b/c of the June 26 date. Last time I rec'd them via email, but it wasn't until the day of the release of scores. Your response would be great!

E...See MoreThis survey concerns all teachers; novice and veteran.
Please take time to complete this survey. It is for a thesis statement. I would appreciate your thoughts and opinions. After all, if it does not currently concern you, it will eventually. Results will be posted at the end of July, 2009.
