I will be taking the business test next month and I am really nervous about it. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to focus on, other than the "study guide" on the website?
The book is a little pricey but it helped me. As soon as you pass your business exam, take something else like math, science, english, spanish...There is almost no jobs in business. I took the middle school math and elementary test. Now I' m a title I math teacher for fourth, fifth , and sixth grade.

smsGo to Barnes and Noble and get a spark notes card for accounting. Just review that and you will be fine. Like the other post said, it is pretty basic.

Acording to the website of SDE, "Effective July 1, 2009, licenses and certificates will be $50.00 and both will be valid for 5 years".
Does anyone know if the new policy means that you may upgrade a license to a certificate within 5 years (previously 3 years for the alternative program)?
I also used the XAM study guide, it really does help you. It will have everything you need to know, it actually over prepares you, but that's a good thing!
Good Luck! On 8...See MoreThe OGET really isn't too tough. You can check out a book or buy it at Barnes and Noble ... it is called The Best Teacher's Test Preparation OGET & OSAT....but they have several other options on the shelf. They are not in the referrence section like one might expect, rather, you can find them in the "Oklahoma section".

Can anyone tell me more about the Speech/Drama/Debate exam? I've been studying from the study guide but was wondering if anyone can give me an idea as to the weight of the sections, which items I should study more, etc...

I have studied hard and really am at a loss for what to try next. The debate questions are what get me. My mind just doesn't reason that way. If anyone out there has any ideas how to prepare better...please respond! > THANK YOU SO MUCH; YOUR INFO. HELPS A LOT!!!
I am organizing a POSTCARD EXCHANGE for the upcoming school year 2009-2010. I would like it very much to have successful turnout of all the states (provinces and territories are welcome!). My classes and I have enjoyed this experience tremendously over the years.
This project works well when all participants hold up to their promise. I would like one participant from each of the 50 states and DC. In addition, anybody who teaches in Canada feel free to join just inquire!
This will be on a first come, first serve. I will have all info ready mid to late September and email every so often with updates.
If you are interested and willing to make the commitment, please provide the following information:
Name School and grade School's full address Email
Please do not hit reply...contact me off the list serve so it does not get overloaded!

When will the 2009 8th Grade OCCT results be published? I just wanted to see when I could find out the results for the school I taught at last year. If they are already out where can I find them. Schoolreportcard.org only has 07-08 up
I passed my OGET, however I failed the World History/Geography (018) by 4 points. I used the Kaplan AP World History book to study, but came up short. Does anyone have any ideas of other resources that I should use? Thanks, Craig
Although I have not hseen the World History guide, Xam IS WORTH THE MONEY! I found the layout and the wording were pretty much in sync with the OGET and the OSAT for sonme of the sciences.
