Alternative Certification

I am currently a federal employee looking to get into teaching by way of the Alternative Certication. I am curious to know if there are others who are currently working in the school system who have taken this route and if they can explain how the process worked for them.

Justin I' m alternatively certified, it took me almost two years of looking for a job, before I found my current position. mrs.a (para) Our state has a program for paraprofessionals to recieve teacher certification. If you could afford to work on a teaching assistant's salary this might be an option for you. I is hard to make it on a irregular substitute schedule because our state limits the number of days a substitute who is not certified can work. Just a suggestion. A good place ...See More
